This program meets on the USC Columbia campus Nov. 11, 2026 - Dec. 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

This class will NOT meet the week of Thanksgiving.

A welcoming next step for students who have completed Intro to Crochet or have basic crochet experience. This condensed seasonal course strengthens familiar skills, introduces textured stitches, and helps students follow written patterns with more confidence while making a useful cold-weather accessory

Students do not need perfect stitches or fast hands. Questions, mistakes, and different learning speeds are part of the class. Demonstrations, small practice samples, and individual troubleshooting help students understand their work and build independence

Suggested prerequisites Familiarity with chaining and basic stitches such as single, half-double, and double crochet, plus some experience working in rows. The first session reviews the essentials together.

Students will practice Recognizing stitch anatomy and placement; maintaining stitch counts; identifying and correcting common mistakes; reading simple abbreviations and repeats; checking dimensions; seaming and weaving in ends; and making simple project adjustments

Materials Smooth, light- or medium-colored yarn; a suitable crochet hook; stitch markers; scissors; and a yarn needle.

Once you have paid in full, you will receive a course reminder email approximately one week before the class starts with the course location and directions. If at any time you have any questions, please call us at 803-777-9444 or email pep@mailbox.sc.edu.

Please note: Space is limited and your seat in the course is not confirmed until payment is received. Additionally, payment must be received at least seven days prior to the start of the course by Noon EST on the seventh day.
